ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jenny Date grew up as an only child on an isolated Mallee farm in the 1950s and moved to Melbourne as a teenager. She studied and developed a career in community services as a counsellor and manager of family and children’s services. Later she moved on to self-employment as a trainer, consultant, and civil celebrant.

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and the various lockdowns at home, Jenny settled into a positive phase of her life, reflecting on her life of seventy-five years, working through a lifetime of belongings and memories that she’d built up over many years. She has based this memoir within the context of the baby boomer generation and the broad social history of Australia. This is her first book
